Luciana Sanga holds a Ph.D. in Japanese from Stanford University, as well as an M.A. and a B.A. from the University of Tokyo. She is currently completing her book manuscript titled: “The New Japanese Love Novel: Genre, Gender and Book Format.” Her work has appeared in the Proceedings of the Association for Japanese Literary Studies. Two of her translations are forthcoming in Review of Japanese Culture and Society. In her teaching and research, she brings a feminist perspective to critically neglected works of popular literature.
