Jeung-Hee Park earned her Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Bilingual Education from The University of Findlay in Ohio, followed by another Master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction from the American College of Education. Before joining the team at Northwestern, she taught Japanese Language and Culture at Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago Public Schools for 24 years, where she developed the Japanese curriculum from beginner to advanced levels. While working at the high school, she was actively involved in many extracurricular activities supporting young learners.
Ms. Park participated in ACTFL conferences as a presenter to enhance her teaching methods and served as a Japanese AP Reader for the College Board. She also proctored JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) for many years. Throughout the years, she was nominated for a Distinguish Secondary Teacher Award by Northwestern University, recognized as an Outstanding Teacher by the President of the University of Chicago, and was nominated multiple times for Golden Apple Awards. She is passionate about teaching foreign languages and exploring cross-cultural aspects of society with young future leaders.
