Corey Byrnes, assistant professor of Chinese literature, was awarded a prestigious post-doctoral fellowship at the Mahindra Humanities Center at Harvard. The theme is “slow violence,” a concept that comes out of Rob Nixon’s eco-inflected literary studies, and it links very well with his current project.

Timsal Masud, visiting assistant professor, recently published Essential Urdu Dictionary by Teach Yourself! This is especially exciting because up until now there was no accessible dictionary for the Urdu learners.
